All horses taken into the Danish Warmblood Showjumper Program are shown with this logo in all Dansk Varmblod's catalogues. In 2004, the Breeding Committee established the Show Jumper Programme with the strategic purpose to systemize and develop Dansk Varmblod show jumping lines with the absolute goal to direct the breed into a constant top-10 ranking world-wide.
Within Dansk Varmblod not only high-class dressage horses are bred, but also top show jumpers like Olympic Silver Medallist, the approved Danish Warmblood sire, Lando and the Bronze Medal mare, Andante, as well as Quibell, Ilion Kilen and Frida, the two latter competing at the Olympics in Hong Kong 2008.
Some of the highest ranking show jumper horses at FEI level by September 2019 are Albert K who took part in the finals at EC Rotterdam, along with Hello M'Lord, Dublé, and Volstrups Cash.
Each year within the Danish test arenas a number of young talents appear, showing off their superb capacity and jumping technique.
Albert-K was in the finals at the European Championships 2019 with his owner and rider, Kim Kristensen, Denmark. Albert-K is by Heartbeat/Quidam de Revel and bred by a former international show jumping rider, Søren Knudsen. Heartbeat is in the DWB showjumper program.
How are the horses selected to be in the programme?
Only mares and stallions of outstanding show jumping capacity in the pedigree, and who have proved their extraordinary quality in riding tests can be taken into this special programme following an application. Having the special “jumping” mark on a pedigree is therefore very prestigious.
Each year in October the breeding commission goes through the many applications from owners of DWB jumper mares and breed sires, and so farmore than 1,200 stallions, mares and foals are now in the program.
Foals with both parents approved for the showjumper program are born into the program.
